Active Listening Humor
Listening is an Art
The practice of active listening can help us communicate better--both with our donors and our friends and families.
When in conversation, an active listener does the following:
- Makes a conscious decision to focus on and understand the messages and motivations of the speaker
- Has patience and allows for natural pauses and short periods of silence (it is not necessary to fill every moment with questions or comments)
- Uses body language that demonstrates he or she is actually hearing what the speaker is saying
Check out these funny scenes to better understand active listening in action:
We explore a lot more about active listening in the next Guided Learning course: The Donor Visit.
